IMI Fest
IMI Fest is a first-of-its-kind festival, produced by the Independent Media Initiative (IMI), to celebrate independent media creators who make and share their work online.
Every November, we bring together a group of independent creators, educators, storytellers, and industry professionals from different disciplines, genres, and formats for a weekend of discovery, inspiration, and innovation. An invitation-only event, IMI Fest features workshops, exhibits, performances, and more, aimed at fostering connection within the independent media ecosystem.
The centerpiece of the festival is the presentation of the IMI Awards, which honor exceptional independent creators and celebrate the intrinsic educational and artistic value of their work. They were created in 2023 to shine a light on these creators and in recognition of the power and ubiquity of independent media.
